The Little Current Lions Club presents the 43rd Annual Haweater Weekend in Little Current on Manitoulin Island.
FRIDAY, JULY 30
12:45 p.m. to 8 p.m - VOLUNTARY TOLL - The Lions Club and the OCF will be conducting a voluntary toll at the Swing Bridge.
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. - LEGION BARBECUE - 6 ounce steak, baked potatoes, veggies and roll. $12 per plate. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 177.
6 p.m. - MIXED SLO-PITCH TOURNAMENT - Low Island ball fields. Space for only 16 teams. Entry fee $250 per team. Many prizes including cash, shirts, etc. Contact Steve Nunn at 705-368-1508 or Bruce Burnett 705-368-3163.
6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. - LIVE MUSIC Featuring MARC SEED - Downtown at the bandshell.
7 p.m. - OPENING CEREMONIES.
8 p.m. to Midnight • TEEN DANCE WITH MUCHMUSIC - Ages 13 to 18. Recreation Centre, Main Ice Surface. Doors open at 8 p.m. and close at 10:30 p.m. Any local teens requiring later admission please contact Bruce Burnett at 705-368-3163. Admission is $10 per person.

8 a.m. - YOUTH CO-ED SOCCER TOURNAMENT - Low Island. Two divisions: Grade 1, Grades 4 to 6 (as of 2008/2009 school year). Teams must include 6 boys and 5 girls ( or vice versa). $10 per player. To register call Lori Green 705-368-1788.
9 a.m. MIXED SLO-PITCH - Low Island. Beer Garden, food, and more!
9 a.m. to Noon - NEMI FARMERS' MARKET -Downtown, BMO garage.

Special Saturday Night Astronomy Session (Civic Holiday Weekend) that includes an orientation into astronomy, a review of planets, northern lights and solar systems, as well as instructions on the use of a planisphere (star map) to find objects in the night sky. Participants will learn how to star hop, view with the naked eye, & have the opportunity to try Bausch & Lomb wide-angle binoculars & observe through the Parks 8" Dobsonian Telescope.

Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve and Wikwemikong Heritage Organizations proudly present the 50th Annual Cultural Festival at Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve, located on Manitoulin Island.
The event takes place from July 31 to August 2.
